More than 1,000 tech and business leaders will gather in Melbourne on December 4 for the tech sector’s premier thought leadership event: the ACS Reimagination Thought Leaders’ Summit 2019.
The fifth annual summit will focus on the innovators creating products and services that compete on the global stage to shape the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The Australian Computer Society (ACS), the professional association for Australia’s ICT sector, is bringing together the world’s foremost tech business leaders from industry, government, education and startup sectors for the summit to explore how these innovators are using technology to transform existing business models, develop new businesses, and create the jobs of the future.
Among those talking about building a global technology business are Richard White, CEO and founder of the $10 billion ASX-listed unicorn WiseTech Global; Bridget Loundon, founder and CEO of Expert360; Nearmap CEO Rob Newman and GHD Digital’s global digital leader, Kumar Parakala.
Female entrepreneurs will also lead the way in the discussions and debate, including Emotiv CEO Tan Le, Digivizer CEO Emma Lo Russo, Kanopy CEO Olivia Humphrey, and from the VC world, Artesian Investments managing director Vicky Lay, and OneVentures managing partner Dr Michelle Deaker.
Lo Russo and Humphrey feature on the ‘Rockstar Aussie Founders’ panel sharing their experiences, success stories and what they’ve learned along the way.
Lay and Deaker are joined by Brisbane investor Steve Baxter on a panel titled ‘Venture Capital as an Enabler of High Growth for Tech Startups’.
The trio will share their thoughts on how tech startups can achieve high growth by injecting funds, as well as their insights to startups looking to raise capital through VCs.
ACS Chief Executive Officer Andrew Johnson said the Reimagination Thought Leaders’ Summit will allow give people the opportunity to engage with Australian and international thought leaders, and share knowledge and insights with like-minded peers and develop new networks.
“They will share their stories and experiences of the challenges faced along their journey, the successes they have achieved, and the remarkable feats they have been able to accomplish,” Johnson said.
“Afterward, we’ll celebrate outstanding Australian tech talent – those leading the way in this era of digital disruption – at the ACS Digital Disruptors Awards 2019.”
